Performing upwards of 3,000 concerts over a 40 year career, Pierre is recognized universally as the foremost exponent of the DADGAD guitar tuning, the successor to the pioneering work of the late Davey Graham, and the catalyst to a whole new world of acoustic guitar styles through the likes of the great Michael Hedges who dedicated and named his track 'Bensusan' to Pierre on the ground breaking album Arial Boundaries. In 2008 Pierre won Guitar Player Magazine Readers choice award, for Best World Music Guitar Player.

On a tour of the UK and Ireland way back in 1977, Pierre first met longtime friend and guitar luthier George Lowden, who coincidently shares his 40th career anniversary in 2014. Pierre has since been a loyal supporter of Lowden guitars and performs on his own signature series Lowden guitar. To celebrate their joint 40th career anniversaries’, George has reissued Pierre’s famous ‘Old Lady’ guitar, one of which is being given away via a competition which is now running at http://www.Bensusan-Lowden.com

George Lowden will be making a personal appearance at the shows in Belfast and Dublin.

"Listening to Pierre Bensusan is rejuvenating. Beside his extraordinary touch and tone, the notes and melody appeal directly to the tender side of our human nature." Steve Vai

"Beautiful .... Pierre is one of the GREATS!" - Tommy Emmanuel

"Pierre is one of my favorite guitarists. He has created a new way of playing and is the king of the Dadgad tuning." - Michael Hedges

Pierre’s latest album release "Encore" – an award nominated triple CD containing 35 tracks taken from concert recordings between 1974 and 2013, including two fascinating duets with world renowned keyboard wizard Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), and several 'early years' bluegrass recordings with banjo great Bill Keith – is now distributed by Discovery and available on DADGAD Records from www.PierreBensusan.com
